Ross & Cromarty (East) Biodiversity Group

Present: Martin Hind (Chairman), Tim Sweenie, Kenny Taylor, Gillian McKnight, Kenna Chisholm, Simon McKelvie, Janet Bromham.

Apologies: Sue Scoggins, Tanya Ogilvy, Fran Lockhart.

Action Points:

1. Janet to investigate possibility of securing some secretarial / admin support from the Moray Firth Partnership (links to their Marine Biodiversity Project);
2. Kenny to draft letter to Cllr Ross (Chairman, Highland Biodiversity Partnership) highlighting lack of funding and inability of local groups to tap into alternative sources such as Wind Farm money;
3. Janet to circulate Highland Biodiversity Partnership agreement to members;
4. Janet to look at Murdo’s projects database and investigating ways of updating & distributing it;
5. Gillian to investigate seed collection possibilities for £2K underspend on Cornfield Wildflower Project Event & Janet to check reallocation possibilities with funders;
6. Members to look at the Highland LBAP Review and e-mail Janet thoughts on the role of the Group;
7. Next meeting to look at the Group’s purpose & the HLF projects (contained in the Ross & Cromarty (East) LBAP Implementation Plan), Janet to circulate thoughts/suggestions in advance of meeting;
8. Janet to canvass dates for the next meeting – Tuesday 21 November evening / Wednesday 22 through the day.
