Highland BAP Implementation Programme
The Highland Biodiversity Action Plan Implementation Programme ran from August 2004 to March 2007, with sponsorship from Scottish Natural Heritage, Highland Council and the North Highland and WHELK Leader+ Programmes. The Local Biodiversity Groups, which were originally set up to steer the production of the LBAPs, were asked to submit project ideas to be funded through the programme. £10,000 was allocated to each of the seven areas for biodiversity projects plus an additional £2,000 for events/open days to publicise the results of these projects and share experience and best practice between areas.
The Programme allocated over £90,000 to 37 community-led biodiversity projects that helped deliver Highland's seven Local Biodiversity Action Plans. Further information on the projects and a summary of the Programme budget can be downloaded here:
